Going to Bohol from Cebu

Going to Bohol from Cebu

There are three fastcraft vessels plying between Cebu City and Tagbilaran City, Bohol. These are the Oceanjet Ferries, 2GO (formerly Supercat), and Weesam Express.

Visiting Bohol is now easy as trips to and from this island destination are almost round the clock. The schedules are posted below for your quick reference.

Finding our hiking trail in Alburquerque

Finding our hiking trail in Alburquerque

Going for an outdoor activity is fun. It is the reason why the group decided to try trekking the grassy terrain and hilly areas of Tagbuane in Alburquerque, Bohol.

The team is composed of the aspiring members of the Bliss Barkada Organization (BBO). These individuals have their own special talents and skills, but doing the outdoor stuff is something uncommon especially with society's adaptation of a more hi-tech world where people are mostly seen facing their smartphones and computers.

Going outside to be real and see the natural side of this world is not only refreshing but a big diversion from the usual things you do.

Check out some photos of this adventurous journey.

If you get really thirsty back then, there's plenty of water flowing from this stream. Somewhere down, there are few groundwater sources where people used to fetch water even for drinking. Now, most residents have become conscious of health issues, so bottled mineral water is already part of household must-haves.

The challenge is climbing up and down the hill as small stones are on your way and might offer you a tougher climb.

It would be refreshing to bath in the cold waters of this stream after a very vigorous activity.

Well, Alburquerque do not have waterfalls. So, if this is enough, you can consider that one as a very tiny waterfalls, like the one you have as part of your landscaping features.

Bohol's Banana Boat experience!

Bohol's Banana Boat experience!

For vacationing tourists who want to try some adventurous activities at sea while in the beautiful island of Panglao in Bohol, you can try riding the banana boat and explore the views as you get yourself a challenging ride. Just wait for the moment as the driver throws everyone aboard in the deep waters of Panglao.

Enjoy!

In photo: Gelo, our friend Mitch (who is in town for a short vacation from the cold part of the world, Kodiak, Alaska, where scary bears go out to the streets sometimes), & myself. You will be taken to some deep parts of the sea so wearing life jackets is obligatory as part of safety precautions.

We waived goodbye for a challenging journey ahead!

Bohol's version of Boracay, Alona!

Bohol's version of Boracay, Alona!

Most tourists refer to it as Alona maybe because the first hotels in the area have Alona in their names, like Alona Kew and Alona Tropical.

Alona is like a small "Boracay" in Bohol. Boracay Island is another famous beach destination in Aklan Province.

Alona is a strip of beachfront resorts with lively bars and restaurant offering different kinds of refreshments, meals, and night entertainments to visiting tourists. Hotels and guest houses are just next to each other.

For people who just want to go to Bohol and enjoy the whole stay in the beach, Alona would be a perfect choice.

To those searching for some Asian food, just wait a little bit for this restaurant to finally operate here at Alona in Panglao Island, Bohol. As of now, they are still finishing construction of the building to hold this exciting restaurant.

Most of the roads in Panglao are already concreted. Alona area just got finished cementing all its access roads offering a lot of convenience to visitors. It feels like a small beach city to me. Everything you need in daily living is all here. If price is not an issue to you, then you can definitely live in Alona as much as you want.

We are glad to find a stall with Boholano favorite 'painit' or snack, putomaya and sikwate. It is best to eat at 3'oclock in between your heavy meals or just anytime when you feel like eating them.

Right upon entering the beach strip, this is going  to be the picture greeting you.

Alona Kew White Beach has a direct access to the beach and it is just right at the entrance to Alona. More resorts are still available when you stroll along the Alona strip.

For tourists, a money changer is one of the must visit places. You are lucky because Alona has one. Bank of the Philippine Islands' (BPI) atm's are also available.

Danao, Panglao, Bohol

One of the best places you could get in Panglao Island in Bohol is the white sandy beach. Plenty of resorts are now operating in the island and more investors are still looking for a good place to put their investments in.

Panglao Island in Bohol is certainly one of the destinations you should put on your bucket list when visiting the Philippines for leisure and relaxation.

Some of the best resorts in the island include the Eskaya, Alona Tropical, Alona Kew, South Palms, Panglao Island Nature Resort, and many more.

Tourists can also enjoy diving in Balicasag Island, snorkeling and other water activities offered in the resorts.

Transportation

Hotel transports are available depending on the package purchased from travel agencies. The most convenient would be taking the taxi or riding a motorcycle which can be hired upon arrival at the Port of Tagbilaran City in mainland Bohol. Travel time would take more or less 30 minutes depending on the location of the booked resort or hotel.

Hired motorcycles are also available for tourists both local and foreign if you want to travel the whole island yourself and even the mainland to see the rest of the beautiful spots that Bohol has in store for you.

Sagbayan Peak, Bohol, Philippines. This is one of the cool things you can do in Bohol, to act as if you are being attacked by a dinosaur. Haha.

Eskaya Resort, Panglao Island, Bohol

Eskaya Resort, Panglao Island, Bohol

Eskaya Resort, Panglao Island, PhilippinesBefore a travel magazine could post their feature on this globally known resort located in Panglao Island, Bohol, let me have some spoiler photos of Eskaya Resort in Panglao. A very relaxing view, indeed. You get to experience all the privacy you need with the private villas in this resort.
However, the price of Php 30,000 per night would surely hurt your pocket. That is the cheapest room they have and that is during the lean months. When peak season strikes, these rates are expected to go up.

I got the chance to visit this resort for a Manulife appointment #growthfund #bondfund #investments.

So here are some photos of what you have to see when you are inside Eskaya Resort in Panglao Island, Bohol.
